After a rich experience of 12 years in arts and crafts, Richard has devoted himself since 1996 to the creation of paintings. He uses his personal technique that he describe as “painting-collage free style”.

His works show all the determination of an artist who masters his art and whose creativity can do no other than to strike the imaginary.

Richard aims to study the fragile balance between material and support, between volumes and tones. Instinctive creator, he is deeply inspired by the automatism and freedom of gesture.

The result is a fusion of abstraction by a textured and colorful background to the realism by B & W images transferts or paper collage.

During his career he received several prizes and scholarships highlighting the quality and originality of his artistic production.
Since 1999 he has presented more than thirty individual exhibitions and participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Quebec, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Mexico and Bulgaria. Richard as participated in the 2nd Symposium art-collage 2002 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, winning two grand prizes. In 2003, he was the honour guest artist at the 10th International exhibition of contemporary collage in Paris. In 2004 he was invited as a lecturer and exhibitor at the Poughkeepsie Art Museum in the State of New York.

In 2010, he returned to Bulgaria this time as honour guest artist of the 6th Symposium art-collage of Plovdiv. During his stay, he gave a workshop to students at the Tzanko Lavrenov School of fine arts.
He was also invited as Honorary President of the Visit’art Christmas fair, Saint-Hyacinthe in 2014.

In 2018 he was the guest artist in order to perform collective works with the public as part of the 23rd Symposium of Chambly and received a an ARTO trophy (ARTO Gallery) in recognition of excellence of his work.

Richard has been giving workshops for more than 25 years to children in schools and libraries in his region. He also give workshops of painting-collage free style to teenagers in schools as well as various workshops of different mixed media techniques to adults.

He participated few times as a member of a jury at exhibitions.

His paintings are part of several private and public collections.
